Conscious Kitchen is committed to food equity, access and education — serving fresh, local, organic school meals to students since 2013 and now meeting rising need across the Marin City community and beyond by scratch-cooking and delivering hot, nutritious meals daily with the same ethics, values and deep commitment to the health and wellbeing of people and planet.

In the face of the Coronavirus crisis, Conscious Kitchens are operating as hubs for community resiliency with the teams, equipment, supply chains and structure to scale up with urgency and immediate local implementation — preparing and dispatching breakfasts, lunches and dinners for kids, families, seniors, food-insecure, homeless and others facing unprecedented challenges, as well as hardworking frontline medical responders, while directly and meaningfully supporting staff, organic farmers, food purveyors, small businesses and more.

Beginning in a Northern California public school where 95% of students qualify for free-and-reduced lunch, Conscious Kitchen launched the first organic school district in the country — and is currently cooking, packing and delivering meals from those and other sites safely for vulnerable populations amid increasing health, societal and financial hardship.

We continue to offer free, nutritious, scratch-cooked meals daily, providing thousands of community lunches and dinners to kids, families, seniors and vulnerable populations facing challenging times, while keeping kitchen staff employed and buying from local farmers and organic suppliers. VOLUNTEERING

As the emergency response and health landscape continue to shift, we are always updating our program to best meet the ongoing feeding needs of the community. We are currently offering volunteer opportunities with delivery of hot, nourishing, organic meals from our kitchens to various distribution locations, as well as farm box deliveries. There is much to be done — and our team depends on volunteers to make it happen. Shifts run Monday through Friday for one to two hours in the afternoon typically, with some additional rapid turnaround needs (let us know if your schedules permit, and we will add you to that text list).
