This spring, the Conscious Kitchen team spent two days connecting with farmers, food businesses, and organizations helping shape the future of our food system at Natural Products Expo West – the world’s largest trade show for natural and organic products. One thing was clear throughout the event: organic continues to be a growing point of conversation across every corner of the industry, and school food is no exception.
During our time there, we had thoughtful conversations with a variety of companies and partners about organic school meals, procurement, public health, and the farm-to-school movement. Opportunities like this help us continue building relationships and identifying products, partnerships, and ideas that can support stronger regional food systems and increase access to fresh, local, organic food in schools.
We left feeling inspired by the number of people across the food world who are thinking deeply about sustainability, ingredient integrity, and how food can better support both people and the planet.
